Shark RV1001AE IQ

Its combinator brush gets to the edges and corners and automatically increases suction when it detects carpet. It also does a good job of cleaning dirt off carpet in the middle. The IQ has a small footprint and also a self-emptying function. If you'd like to change the floor level or set areas that are not allowed to be used, you'll need to manually reset the map.

The IQ's app has some advanced mapping and automation features but it's missing no-go zones that are available on iRobot models. The smart-pathing system of the app allows for greater maneuverability and the high-pile mode of its carpet cleaning mode is effective, although it can get caught in rug tassels.

In our tests during our tests, the IQ was capable of handling pet hair well, clearing huge amounts of debris from floors with no flooring and fair amounts of medium-pile carpet. It was a little less effective on shag carpets which was a struggle to reach dirt and dust that vacuum mop cleaner robot was embedded in the fibers. It was able to navigate the legs of a chair, tiny spaces as well as the base of an IKEA wooden step stool. We did notice that it was a little slower on bare floors but it quickly recovered and performed more thoroughly than other robots we tested.

The IQ is a better choice than the iRobot Roomba 694 for most uses. It has a bigger dust bin and lasts longer on charge and is more capable of moving itself over obstacles. It also has mopping attachments that can tackle sticky messes. On the other side, the iRobot feels better-built and has fewer parts that require replacement or maintenance, incurs lower recurring costs and creates virtual no-go zones using its companion app. It is able to even resume a cleaning session from the point it started if it runs out of battery before it has completed the task. The iRobot can also be controlled via voice, which is a huge plus for many users.

The eufy RoboVac 11S robot vacuum isn't among the most feature-rich models, but it provides excellent cleaning power for affordable prices. It's designed for those who don't need a complicated mapping system or app to control the device. The robot is able to last for over an hour. It includes a remote control, cleaning tool and AC power adapter.

The 11S is slim and sleek and has a tempered-glass upper deck that appears like polished aluminum. It's a nice contrast to Roomba, Samsung, and Neato designs that are more practical and industrial.

The eufy11S did well in our tests at removing larger particles and fine dust from hard floors. However, it struggled to give high and medium pile carpets an effective deep clean. The device is capable of bumping into people and furniture in its route. However, it is able detect these obstacles using sensors. When it encounters them, it ceases to move and emits an alarm so that you can manually guide it around the obstacle and then get back to work.

It also comes with one of the most advanced obstacle avoidance systems. It has a large bin, a long running time and the ability to clean up quickly and without bumps.

The Complete C1 is unlike most robots in that it can switch between two heads, a standard and a turbo head for various kinds of flooring. The turbo head is ideal for carpeting that is high-pile and low-pile and the standard powerhead is great on floors that are unfinished and light rug. It also comes with an automatic height adjustment system that enables it to adapt to different types of flooring without manual adjustments.

The model comes with an SBD 285-3 Classic Combination Floorhead that can handle both hard floors as well as carpeting of medium-pile. The powerhead is also easy to maneuver and can get into difficult spots. It comes with five levels of surface adjustment as well as a switch that lets you turn off the brushroll to avoid hairs getting caught in tangles.

The Classic C1 has a self cleaning brush roll and the UtraClean Mode that can clean the same area up to three times and a self-emptying dustbin that you can empty by pressing a button.
